I've learned that my Maternal Great Grandfather is 100% Tigua originally from Taos, New Mexico but his ancestors were forced to walk by the Spanish in the 1600's to Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, where one day in his mid teens was lost in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where he met my Maternal Great Grandmother who was 100% Navajo who was also forced to walk by the American Cavalry from Northeastern Arizona to Southeastern New Mexico in a walk of 500 miles in the early 1860's. From there they used the Pecos River to take them to present day Del Rio, Texas where they followed the Rio Grande upstream to present day, Presidio Valley of West Texas and Northern Mexco. Here is the link that will educate all on the Military History of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, the Ysleta of the Tiguas in Texas. From this link, you will learn much more imporant information about the Tigua Native Americans.
